Drama/Music/Fine Arts Instructors – Summer Arts Academy

Currently hiring instructors to teach Drama, Music, and Fine Arts to 6 – 11 year olds.  Responsibilities include developing and implementing daily lessons for Summer Arts Academy, supervising youth, serving as a positive role model, and ensuring a safe environment.  Requires experience working with youth/diverse populations.   Also requires knowledge of and experience with specific art medium.   Summer Arts Academy runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Position begins June 11th with a week of training and ends August 17th.  Candidates must be able to work the entire summer.  Arts Academy staff members may have the opportunity to continue employment during the 2012-2013 school year.

Youth Development Professional – General Recreation

Currently hiring for immediate openings and Summer 2012!

Responsibilities include running activities, supervising youth, implementing programs, and ensuring a fun, safe environment.  Excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to teach recreation or physical education to community youth of all backgrounds.  Requires experience working with youth/diverse populations.  Summer positions begin June 11th with a week of training and end August 17th.  Staff may have the opportunity to continue employment during the 2012-2013 school year.

Assistant Camp Director

Responsibilities include assisting Camp Director with daily operation of the Boys & Girls Clubs overnight camp, including supervision of staff, program delivery, and serving as Assistant Health Officer.  Requires previous leadership positions in a camp environment and experience working with youth/diverse populations.  Camp sessions begin on Tuesday mornings and end on Friday afternoon, allowing for a 3 ½ day weekend.  Candidates must be able to work all 8 sessions.  Position starts June 11th with a week of training and ends August 17th.

Residential Camp Counselors

Several positions open at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo overnight summer camp in Hastings, MI.  Responsibilities include running programs and activities in a camp setting, supervising a cabin of up to 8 youth (ages 8-13), serving as a positive role model, and ensuring a fun, safe environment.  Requires experience working with youth/diverse populations.  Previous camp experience is preferred, but not required.  Camp sessions begin on Tuesday mornings and end on Friday afternoon, allowing for a 3 ½ day weekend.  Candidates must be able to work all 8 sessions.  Position starts June 11th with a week of training and ends August 17th.
