ARTS ACADEMY – 6 – 11 year old members
Lake Street Unit – Monday thru Friday * 9:00 am – 1:00 pm * June 21 – August 20

Arts Academy offers daily classes in Drama, Music, Creative Movement, and Fine Arts. Participants will also use technology and display their newly developed art skills in an end-of-summer showcase. Arts Academy participants will receive free breakfast and lunch daily through the USDA summer lunch program. Registration is required and space is limited!

DROP-IN –All school-age members
Lake Street and Douglass Units – Monday thru Friday * 1:00 – 7:00 pm * June 21 – August 20

Drop-In activities and programs include social recreation, physical education, technology programs, arts and crafts, and field trips. The Teen Center is also open during Drop-In. Registration not required.

TEEN NIGHT – Members entering 7th grade and up
Lake Street Unit – Monday thru Friday * 7:00 – 10:00 pm * June 21 – August 20

During teen nights, older members can socialize with friends, spend time in the gym, explore the arts, utilize the computer lab, and enjoy general recreation activities, such as ping-pong and pool. A great way to spend a summer evening! Registration not required.

RESIDENTIAL CAMP – 8 – 13 year old members
Tuesday – Friday overnight session * June 22 – August 13

The Boys & Girls Clubs owns and operates a camp in Hastings. Camp activities include hiking, mountain biking, arts and crafts, nature activities, swimming in a new pool and – of course – s’mores around the campfire! Campers meet at the Lake Street Unit on Tuesday mornings, travel to camp in the Clubs’ bus, and return by noon on Friday. Eight sessions are offered with alternating boys and girls weeks. Registration is required, and space is limited!

Membership Information

Youth must be members to participate in Boys & Girls Club programs; however, membership is free and available to all youth ages 6 – 18 (must have completed kindergarten prior to summer to be eligible). A membership form must be completed by a parent or guardian for each youth eligible for membership. Parents and/or guardians must attend a New Member Orientation with each child becoming a member. Orientations are offered several times a week and last 45 minutes. Orientation times are listed on the reverse – no registration is required.

Residential Summer Camp

What: Camp is lots of fun! Hiking, swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, sports, biking, campfires, cabins, friends, and S’MORES!

Where: The camp is located near Hastings, Michigan, approximately 45 miles north of Kalamazoo. Campers will be transported to and from camp in the Club bus.

How Long: Each camp session is 4 days and 3 nights. Campers depart Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. and return Fridays by noon.

How Much: CAMP IS FREE! CLUB MEMBERSHIP IS FREE!
